 Prosecutorial View of Crash Investigations

A Prosecutorial View of Crash Investigations: How to Avoid Becoming a Target of the Defense
This 2-day training course is designed for patrol officers through seasoned crash reconstructionists. Literally, it is geared towards anyone that may find themselves in the position of investigating a motor vehicle crash.

Very few of us like to testify in court. The reason we don't like to is because we don't want to be made a fool of on the stand at the hands of a defense attorney that is relentless in their questioning and our own realization that we should have done a better job. However, some of us are very good at testifying, we enjoy turning the tables on the defense by presenting factual evidence in a simple, yet, clear, knowledgeable and professional manner to a judge or jury. We want to appear in their eyes as being credible. To get to this point, we must begin "Thinking Trial From Day One."

This crash-related course will detail the necessary components for a “guilty verdict”: a beyond a reasonable doubt investigation, accurate documentation, and confident presentation. Crash investigators will understand the importance of every stage of a criminal proceeding and learn ways to more confidently testify in front of a jury and combat tactics defense attorneys typically use to try and create reasonable doubt at an officer’s expense.
