This program is designed specifically for law enforcement and will focus on ways to address the issues in responding to an in-progress active shooter scenario. Special skills and techniques will be discussed along with the necessary response approaches. By the conclusion of the program, participants should understand and be able to apply in their assignment the following: (1) defining an in-progress active shooter scnario; (2) common locations for active shooter situations; (3) role of the first officer on the scene; (4) preparedness for an active shooting incident; (5) training for the community and commercial groups where the situation might occur; (6) dealing with the media; (7) Dealing with the media; and (8) after action activity.
