The Ultimate FTO is a two day, evidence based officer safety program focused on human performance improvement. The Ultimate FTO program is not a basic FTO program, but rather a skills enhancement course that will make the “good” FTO a “great” FTO. The course is learner centered, with interactive learning activities, case reviews, and video analysis. This program is not based on developing mechanical training or rote skills commonly found in traditional field training officer (FTO) programs, but rather enhancing FTO’s abilities to help new officers learn. The course is designed from more than 50 empirical resources and collaboration from Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) throughout North America.

Rooted in our foundational belief that quality training should provide evidence based, practical, and immediately applicable tools for officer safety, the goals of this class are simple:
1.To identify the essential characteristics and skills necessary for improving performance of new police officers, with an emphasis on decision making under stress and officer safety.
2.To teach FTO’s a new way of providing feedback that breaks with traditional feedback models and has been proven to increase human performance.
3.To provide FTO’s the tools to train officers in essential skills that are frequently not taught in basic academy curriculum.
