To assure students in vehicle dynamics are prepared to take this intense course THERE IS A PRETEST ADMINISTERED prior to the class that must be passed. The pretest is administered, on a voluntary basis, during CI-2 classes. Other arrangements are made as needed through various police academies since the test must be proctored. Prerequisites for vehicle dynamics are the successful completion of CI-1 and CI-2.

This course prepares the student for crash reconstruction and is one week in duration. Course content includes Newton's Laws of Motion, coefficient of friction and drag factors, basic motion equations, velocity, time, acceleration and distance, speed estimates, momentum and energy. This course is very intense and is for officers with strong math skills. Class size is limited to 30 students.
