On Saturday, Atlantic County health officials reported the death of a 74-year-old Weymouth Township man due to complications from Covid-19 as well as 26 new cases among 8 men, ages 22-73 and 18 women, ages 24-81.
Nine of those who tested positive were from Atlantic City, four each from Hammonton and Pleasantville, three from Galloway and two from Hamilton Township. One additional resident tested positive in Absecon, Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor Township and Ventnor.
Twenty-four more residents have been cleared as recovered for a total of 1,107 of the 2,395 who have tested positive. Covid-19 has claimed the lives of 169 residents to date.
Atlantic County will continue its Covid-19 testing on Tuesday, June 9 by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription.
Testing is conducted between 9 AM and 12 noon behind the Public Works yard in Northfield at Rt. 9 (New Road) and Dolphin Avenue. Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org.
