Atlantic County will hold its 41st annual Senior Citizens Art Show beginning May 1 through May 25 to showcase the creative talents of professional and non-professional residents age 60 and older.
"This show demonstrates the ageless abilities of our residents," remarked County Executive Dennis Levinson. "I look forward to it each year and encourage others to enjoy it as well. Rest assured, you will be very impressed."
The show will be exhibited at the Atlantic County Library, 6500 Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor. Entries will be accepted at the library beginning Monday, April 17 through Saturday, April 22, 10 AM to 3:30 PM daily. One entry per artist. Winning entries in the juried show will advance to the state competition. Entries must have been created within the past three years and have not been previously entered in this competition. Categories include: acrylic, craft, digital imagery, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography, drawing/print, sculpture and watercolor. As many as one professional winner and one non-professional winner from each category will be selected for advancement.
All winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony to be held on Thursday, May 25,
1-3 PM. A monetary prize of $100 will be presented to each first place winner from the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services. Award ribbons will be presented for first, second and third place and honorable mention as determined by the judges.
