County Executive Dennis Levinson and Atlantic County federal, state and local elected officials stand united in opposition to sheltering migrants at Atlantic City International Airport.
On Friday, September 1, at 11 AM, Atlantic County elected officials from both parties will hold a unified press conference to oppose the federal government’s proposal to use Atlantic City International Airport as a shelter for some of the 60,000 migrants who recently arrived in New York City.
Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson will be joined by federal and state legislators, county commissioners and Atlantic County mayors to voice their concerns and opposition to the federal government’s proposal to relocate migrants from New York City to the Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township. The airport is one of 11 federally owned facilities the U.S. Department of Homeland Security identified in a letter to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
The press conference will be held at Fireman's Memorial Plaza between the County Office Building and Atlantic City City Hall at Tennessee Avenue and Bacharach Boulevard, Atlantic City.
