Atlantic County Obtains Limited Supply of Additional First Doses

The Atlantic County Division of Public Health has obtained an additional limited supply of first doses of Moderna vaccine, which it will be providing to eligible recipients, by appointment, on Monday, February 1 and Friday, February 5, 9 AM – 1 PM each day, at Atlantic Cape Community College, 5100 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing.

“We’ve received some additional doses but the vaccine supply is still extremely limited,” stated County Executive Dennis Levinson. “We recognize that we will not be able to satisfy all those who seek appointments. The overwhelming demand outnumbers the current supply. We were given these additional first doses by the state with the understanding that after their distribution we would then be transitioning our staff and resources to the mega site in Atlantic City.”

The Atlantic City Convention Center, one of six vaccination mega sites in New Jersey is also providing first doses by appointment, at vaccination.atlanticare.org. A list of other vaccination locations throughout the state is available at covid19.nj.org and on the county website.

The Division of Public Health will begin providing second doses on February 2 through February 18 to those whom it administered first doses January 5-21. Eligible second dose recipients will be notified by email or phone to schedule their appointments. Emails are being sent out in batches about a week before the due date for second doses. State officials encourage everyone to get their second doses from the same provider who provided their first doses.

Atlantic County also continues to provide COVID-19 testing, by appointment, at its drive-through facility in Northfield at 617 Dolphin Avenue, each Tuesday, 9-11:30 AM, in cooperation with AtlantiCare. Testing has also been extended at the county’s Galloway library branch, 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road, weekdays through February 11. Vault Health is providing the testing there. Appointments are preferred by walk-ins are accepted.  Testing appointments for either location can be made at www.aclink.org.
