74 More Recoveries and No New Covid-19 Deaths for 11th Day

For the 11^th consecutive day, Atlantic County health officials are reporting no additional deaths related to Covid-19 and only 13 new positives confirmed in four males, ages 3-82, and nine females, ages 22-94.

Six of today’s new positives were found in Hamilton Township, three each were found in Egg Harbor Township and Northfield, and one new case was confirmed in Pleasantville.

There were also 74 more residents who have been cleared as recovered bringing the countywide total to 2,215 residents of the 3,713 who have tested positive to date. Covid-19 has claimed the lives of 241 residents. The last fatalities were confirmed on August 2.

Atlantic County will continue to provide Covid-19 testing at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard, each Tuesday in August, 9 AM – 11:30 AM, unless otherwise noted.

The test site is available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s prescription. Residents must make an appointment for testing and provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation. 

If available, appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel no less than 24 hours in advance so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.

At this time, labs throughout the state are experiencing delays in reporting results due to the high volume of testing. 

Health officials also remind residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
