Eight Long-Term Care Deaths and 18 New Covid-19 Cases, June 13

On Saturday, June 13, Atlantic County public health officials reported the death of eight long-term care residents from complications of Covid-19. They included four men, ages 55, 83, 94 and 95 and two women, ages 91 and 96, all from Galloway, as well as a 55-year-old Hammonton woman and a 94-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman. All eight residents had pre-existing health conditions.
 
The county also identified 18 new Covid-19 cases in nine males, ages 8-91 and nine females, ages 6-89. 

Six of the new positives were found in Pleasantville, three each in Hammonton and Somers Point and two in Northfield. Atlantic City, Folsom, Galloway, and Hamilton Township each had one new positive resident.
 
Today’s cases bring the countywide totals to 2,540 positives with 1,248 cleared as recovered and 182 deaths.
 
Atlantic County will continue its Covid-19 testing by appointment for symptomatic county residents with a doctor’s prescription on Tuesday, June 16 in Northfield behind the county’s public works yard at Route 9 (New Road) and Dolphin Avenue. Appointments are available 9 AM – 11:30 AM and can be made online at www.aclink.org.
