Atlantic County is an Eligible Employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Considering a career with Atlantic County, but worried about your student debt?   You may be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)! The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer. To qualify for PSLF, you must:

  • work full time for a U.S. federal, state, local, or tribal government or not-for-profit organization;
  • have Direct Loans (or consolidate other federal student loans into a Direct Loan);
  • repay your loans under an income-driven repayment plan; and
  • make 120 qualifying payments.

Provide coordination and assistance to all local health departments (LHDs) and contact tracing teams within the LINCS (local information network communication systems) jurisdiction on matters pertaining to COVID-positive and COVID-exposed persons requiring isolation, quarantine or other social services. The LINCS Social Support Coordinator will work with LINCS/LHDs, the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) Quarantine Director, the DOH Regional Social Support Coordinator (SSC), regional Health Hubs, community-based organizations and other social support agencies to address housing, transportation, food, mental health, medical services, insurance coverage, unemployment compensation and other needs.

Requirements: EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or other social science.

EXPERIENCE:

One (1) year of professional experience in social work, mental health counseling or a related field, preferably with a community-based organization.

Coordinate COVID-related work at LINCS/LHDs (local information network communication systems/local health departments) within their jurisdiction and, in collaboration with Health Officers, serve as the main liaison to the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) and DOH Regional Coordinators. Work closely with LINCS/LHDs, the LINCS COVID Social Support Coordinator (SSC), the LINCS COVID Data Manager/Epidemiologist, and contact tracers and other COVID-related partners within the LINCS jurisdiction to ensure testing, case interviewing, contact tracing, isolation and quarantine and other social support services are conducted in a timely and complete manner.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Positions in this class are primarily involved with the care, feeding, cleaning, and grooming of animals, and the cleaning of their living quarters and adjacent areas. In contrast to animal control officers, positions in this class are not responsible for the enforcement of state and local animal control regulations or for the capturing, impounding, and destroying of animals. 1. The law as it affects animal control and welfare.
