It goes beyond that program's content to explore in-depth important aspects and topics specifically concerned with the recruiting and hiring of suitable candidates for departmental openings. Topics include: (1) the changing workforce in the United States; (2) federal hiring law and EEC guidelines; (3) management strategies for staffing and supervising a recruitment unit; (5) using the Internet; (6) sample advertisements and scripts; (7) minority hiring and affirmative action programs; and (8) experiences of successful and unsuccessful recruitment campaigns.
