Learn More About a New, Free Energy Jobs Training Program

Information Sessions to be held November 15-December 13

Atlantic County residents who are looking for a career change or potential new career are invited to learn more about an innovative program to educate and train individuals to fill future energy jobs at no cost to participants regardless of financial status.

“This initiative complements Atlantic County’s efforts to diversify our economy and train our workforce for innovation and technology jobs,” stated County Executive Dennis Levinson. “I encourage our residents to take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity and applaud Atlantic City Electric for investing in our future.”

The Atlantic County Workforce Development Board is partnering with Atlantic City Electric as part of the company’s six-year, $6.5 million jobs training program. The Atlantic County Workforce Development Board will provide participants with education and training in 10 weeks or less for positions in the energy field.

“We are committed to expanding training programs to help create the energy workforce of tomorrow,” said Gary Stockbridge, Atlantic City Electric region president. “Through this program, we will educate the workforce that will keep our energy grid running; advance solar, wind and other clean energy technologies, and drive innovation in our industry.”

Classes will begin in early 2019 and will include an energy math boot camp to teach applied math skills and concepts specific to the energy industry; a 40-hour class designed to prepare women for non-traditional, in-demand jobs in construction, gas, water, electric and energy industries; and a four-week, hands-on class for those interested in work as energy line workers.

Information and recruitment sessions will be held at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Worthington Campus, 1525 Bacharach Boulevard, Atlantic City, Room 103, on the following dates:

  • Thursday, November 15                     6-8 PM

  • Tuesday, November 20                       2-4 PM

  • Friday, December 7                            9-11 AM

  • Thursday, December 13                      6-8 PM

The information sessions are free and registration is not required. Applications for enrollment will be available at each session.
