Local scout troops in cooperation with Atlantic County Parks staff will honor the memories of our fallen veterans and their spouses who are buried in the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery with the placement of flags on their grave sites (nearly 5,000 in total) in preparation for Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2018.
Scouts who perform this service on two of three occasions throughout the year (Memorial Day, July Fourth and Veterans Day) are eligible to receive the Atlantic County Patriotism Patch in recognition of their efforts.
The flag placement is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 7 at 4 PM, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, it will be held the following day.
The Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery is located within the county park at 109 Route 50 in Estell Manor.
