Learn How to Prevent an Overdose at Free Narcan Trainings

Free Narcan trainings will be held each month to help educate and inform citizens of the use of Narcan, a life-saving opioid antidote.

According to the U.S. Surgeon General, 115 Americans die each day from an opioid overdose which prompted its office to issue an advisory earlier this month encouraging the public to learn how to recognize an overdose and prevent it with the proper administration of Narcan.

Community trainings are provided by the Atlantic County Division of Public Health in cooperation with the Urban Treatment Associates.

Morning sessions (10 AM – 12 NOON) are available at the Parkway Building, 10 W. Jimmie Leeds Road in Galloway on May 2, June 6, July 10, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5. Evening sessions (6-8 PM) are being held at the Atlantic County Library, 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road, Galloway on May 15, August 29, September 20, October 9, November 13 and December 20.

Registration for any of these trainings is required and may be completed by calling Joanna at (856) 263-8193 or by email to: uta.narcan@verizon.net.
