Office on Disability

The Office on Disability plans, develops, and works in coordination with the various supportive services for people with disabilities. The office works in coordination with the Atlantic County Disability Advisory Board.

The Office on Disability facilitates a network of information and cooperation among agencies servicing residents with disabilities to insure their needs are considered in local, state and national policy and plans. The office provides technical advice and consultation regarding laws, regulations and issues affecting individuals with disabilities. National policy information is available directly from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Technical Assistance Program website

The Office of Disability Services administers the Personal Assistance Services Program (PASP) which provides adults with physical disabilities opportunities to work, attend school or vocational training and live independently in the community.  Contact the Atlantic County PASP Consultant at 645-7700, ext. 4519. Information and assistance about programs and services for individuals with disabilities is coordinated with Intergenerational Services' Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC). The Office of Equal Opportunity monitors county government for compliance with appropriate laws and guidelines regarding equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. This Office provides direct service to the citizens of our county through its effective oversight of these sensitive issues.
